Refreshing getaway from the rigours and bustle of Montgomery city life. The proprietor was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about all things gardening while simultaneously possessing that unique ability to know when to step back and give visitors space. Enjoy breathtaking vistas of the Alabama wild and his menagerie, including the best goat I've ever had the privilege to meet. This place manages to balance that ever-elusive and highly sought after combination of class and country.

A truly amazing place teaming with life, Chris was an awesome host and educator. During my time there I learned much about permaculture and got to play with all the happy farm animals. We got a taste of the permaculture life style harvesting fresh mushrooms, chicken eggs, veggies, it was delicious. Thanks for the great time Chris & Lydia!

My husband and I tent-camped beside the house. The setting was extremely quiet and peaceful, the garden was fun to explore, and I had fun keeping an eye out for wandering chickens and two playful dogs that will sleep with you if you leave your tent flap open :) Chris was very hospitable and fun too. This is a great place to get away for a while.

This is an amazing place and the hosts, Chris and Lydia, are incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed here during our evacuation from Hurricane Irma and they made sure that we were comfortable and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The farmstead itself is beautiful and peaceful - a sustainable paradise. If you are interested in permaculture, Chris is happy to share his knowledge with you. A wonderful escape from the city hustle and bustle.
