Anyone who tries and force people(like a Athletic Director) to come to their church is not a very good church. As Christians, we are to choose our own church, not be forced to a certain church as a condition of employment. We freely choose God, he does not force us to choose him.
I will never attend this church again, and I surely would never let my child go to their school either.
If you want a family atmosphere that loves God, eachother and its community. This is the place. Wide age range, active members and a school.
It is always about the money folks and Baptist Churches of this size are always fighting for every precious little dollar that they can gain. Just look at the size of this place and I will guarantee you that this church's pastor wants to make it even bigger. The bigger it is, the more money in his own personal pocket as well as more speaking engagements at conferences and his buddy's churches. Money, travel and prestige is what is most important to Baptist preachers.
If you want to hear the truths of the bible then this is the place for you. I love being apart of this body of believers.
I would go to say that the church seen a threat to its revenue streams. The coach attending another church would undoubtedly pay his tithes to the other church. Then there is the issue of others in the church that may feel compelled to attend the church that their coach liked to attend; this would have pulled members away, taking precious mammon with them.
